Lake Martin's 44,150 acres offers delightful options: dining at lake restaurants, jumping off Chimney Rock, petting goats at Goat Island, flipping from mobile water parks, bird watching at Piedmont Birding Trail, enjoying a picnic and white sand at DARE Park, to name a few activities.

Lake Martin has 134 fish species (5 of which occur nowhere else in the world). Guide services can help you find the big stripers, largemouth bass and crappie. The lake is a regular on fishing tournament circuits.

Lake Martin Amphitheater hosts concerts. Children's Harbor, Chuck's, Russell Crossroads, and downtown Alex City host art shows and sales. Live performances can be enjoyed at Alexander City Theatre, Opelika Center for the Performing Arts, East Alabama Arts Performance Series. Live music can be heard at Strand Sessions in Alex City, Jazz Fest, Friday on the Green in Russell Crossroads, Coppers Grill in Stillwaters, and many other local restaurants.

Stillwaters' Highlands is a well-bunkered par-72 course with rolling fairways Lakewinds, in Alex City, is a 70-par with old-style rounded greens and challenging water hazards. Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail's course at Grand Champion is in Opelika.
